Week 5 – Sonic Culture

Although sonic culture isn’t one of my interests, I was looking forward to trying new tools. Week 5 happened to be one of the more “interactive” ones, as we had to go out of the lab and record sounds using a few different tools. I have never used any of them before, and so I found it quite fascinating.

I’ve found out that you can record sounds of “things” such as electronic devices (e.g. computers, lamps, vending machines) as well as simple everyday life objects (e.g. metal bar or chair).

Here’s a few examples of the things I’ve “listened to”:

Alarm

Coffee Machine

Clock – 1

Clock – 2

Lights

Metal Bar
